As much of Oregon is enduring temperatures in the 100's, nature's air conditioned Cannon Beach is right in the comfort zone. Good Morning America is filming in town today. Downtown is just waking up with morning coffee drinkeras making their way to and from their favorite coffee source. With triple digit temperatures predicted for the next three days in Portland and the Willamette Valley, we anticipate quantities of refugees seeking the summer comfort of Cannon Beach's natural air conditioning. A recent inquiry came to my one-unit motel in downtown (Inn at Village Centre) asking if the unit had air conditioning. The response - No, but the town does. Cannon Beach Oregon ... Friday 8am 17Jul2009. Temp - 60. Sunrise 542a. Sunset 901p. Today there are two rows of photos. There was too much to share to fit in one row. I biked down the beach to Arcadia Beach. Beautiful morning. The last photo is a sun star. I don't see these very often. This one had been washed up by the surf and was at the water's edge. The color is quite striking when you get close and take a good look. The fog was mostly at bay about a mile off shore, but as I rode south, some was blowing in and being highlighted by the rising sun. Jockey Cap rock is Photo 2 in the second row. Cannon Beach Oregon ... Thursday 10am 16Jul2009. Temp - 69. Sunrise 541a. Sunset 902p. Nature is keeping the air conditioning around 70 today in Cannon Beach. Some wind out of the south with the marine layer at bay a mile or so out over the ocean. With a 94 degree forecast for Portland and the Willamette Valley , we are anticipating refugees here at the beach. As some of you know, I haven't put new photos up in a few weeks. I have just been too busy as of late. Yesterday I returned from a trip and will now try to get photos up more often.
