Cannon Beach Oregon ... Sunday 10am 22Nov2009. Temp - 47. Sunrise 725a. Sunset 438p. The rain has stopped, but the wind is blowing hard out of the north as high pressure builds and the clouds begin to part allowing some sun breaks. With all the blowing that's been going on, foam, created by high seas and high winds is being pushed on to the beach and blown around. Even though it was low tide at the time these photos were taken, the waves were at times coming up near land. Today at 3pm is a piano concert at the Coaster Theatre. American pianist Stephen Beus performs a program of Bach, Beethoven, Scriabin and Liszt. Stephen is recognized as one of the most promising pianists of his generation. Cannon Beach Oregon ... Saturday 925am 14Nov2009. Temp - 45. Sunrise 714a. Sunset 446p. Recent storms and high seas have left an abundance of driftwood on the beach. At high tide, there has been little or no place to walk or ride. Not much wind today, but not much sun either. This weekend is WOW (Women's Only Weekend) in Cannon Beach. A time to get away, be pampered and maybe do a little early Holiday shopping. For today's surf shot go to the SurfCam page. Cannon Beach Oregon ... Sunday 950am 08Nov2009. Temp - 50. Sunrise 705a. Sunset 453p. Weather has been all over the place this weekend. A wild ocean and very high tide caught more than one unfortunate individual by surprise Friday and Saturday. Waves were pushing up over seawalls and anyone in the way was left wet, if lucky enough not to be knocked down. Today the surf was still churning with foam, but not as much as the privious two days. It rained several times and the sun came out between. The Stormy Weather Arts Festival was a success. Those who braved the weather were rewarded with outstanding art, artists, music, food and drink. Mark your calendar for Nov 5-7, 2010. For today's surf shot go to the SurfCam page. There, you will also find today's photo and surf report from Mark Mekenes of Cannon Beach Surf. .. George

Cannon Beach Oregon ... Sunday 900am 01Nov2009. Temp - 50. Sunrise 655a. Sunset 503p. Fall back one hour today. Bright sun, no wind, churning ocean, fall moon - no doubt a good time to be at the beach. There was so much white water out there this morning in spite of the lack of wind. These shots are just before high tide. With the moon nearing full, we have minus low tides for the next few days, but only 10 hours of daylight. Yesterday I sat in the door of my gallery and handed out candy to costumed trick or treaters, but not before getting them to pose for a picture. To view what I saw, go to www.cannon-beach.net and click on the "Halloween Pictures at Village Centre" link. Make plans now to be in Cannon Beach next weekend for the 22nd Annual Stormy Weather Arts Festival.
