Cannon Beach Oregon .. Sunday 830am 17Apr2011. Temp - 50. Sunrise 628a. Sunset 804p. A break in the spring showers. Beautiful day on the beach. I rode south this morning to Hug Point. Photo #1 is the old road. Even though the tide was out, I was not able to pass because of the lack of sand. This lack of sand was also the reason that the old rusted car frame and transmission were exposed in photos #2 and #4. I have never seen this car before but recall having heard about it. It is interesting that at the same time, there is a buildup of sand at Silver Point, just a mile north - a good example of how the sand gets moved around. Photo #3 is Silver Point Rock, not Haystack Rock. Haystack Rock is another mile or two north. For today's surf shot go to the SurfCam page. Today was my first bike ride since my knee surgery 17 days ago. It will be a while before I get full strength, but it sure is nice to be back able to bike on the beach.
