Cannon Beach Oregon ... Tuesday 340pm 14Dec2010. Temp - 50. Sunrise 750a. Sunset 431p. After a couple days of rain, we had a bit of a break today. The sun broke through briefly and the pavement dried temporarilly. The wind continued and by dark the showers began again. The shops are stocked and chefs are at the ready while the fireplaces in the motels beckon the December traveler. The beauty and awe of the coast is always here. Rain came in overnight. Wind has picked up as the day has progressed. Photo #1 today is the Stephanie Inn in the south end of town. East wind was to the liking of surfers at Haystack Rock. Yesterday was the annual "Lamplighting" - a Cannon Beach tradition to kick off the holiday season. Cannon Beach Oregon ... Wednesday 915am 01Dec2010. Temp - 46. Sunrise 735a. Sunset 431p. Temp is up to 50 after starting off at 44 this am. Nice to see the clouds break up a bit. Today's photos are at the Tolovana Wayside - next to Mo's and the Tolovana Inn. The large clump of kelp is pretty common during/after storms. It always amazes me how these clumps disappear after a few days - apparently swept back to sea by waves from another storm. For today's surf shot go to the SurfCam page.
