Cannon Beach Oregon ... Sunday 9am 16May2010. Temp - 55. Sunrise 543a. Sunset 841p. Minus low tide at 9am this morning and lots of great puffin viewing at Haystack Rock with the scopes and assistance of Haystack Rock Awareness Program volunteers. As many as 40 puffins have been counted at Haystack Rock right now. They can be seen coming and going from thier burrows where they take turns incabating their egg. What are they digging for in the 3rd picture? It looks like taking core samples of the sand???
