Home : Recreation : Wildlife Wildlife The waters, beaches and forests of Cannon Beach abound with wildlife. Whales pass by during their bi-annual migration. The shoreline teems with birds, including many types of gulls. Stellars jays, chickadees, nuthatches and hummingbirds are just a few of the local birds, and many more stop during migration. Elk and deer can be seen in the forest and meadows. Raccoons and squirrels are plentiful and can be pests.
